Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions

How does Embrace Disability Services match the right support worker to each person?

We take the time to understand what each person needs before assigning a support worker. That includes your daily routine, communication style, preferences, and any cultural or personal details that help us get it right. Some people prefer a calm and quiet approach, while others want someone more upbeat. We listen and adjust based on what works for you.

Our focus is on building long-term, consistent support. If something doesn’t feel quite right, we work with you to make changes quickly and respectfully. We also check in regularly to make sure the support continues to feel comfortable and useful as your needs evolve.

Our background is in nursing, mental health, and hands-on support. We are present, practical, and focused on getting things right for the people we support. That means clear communication, consistent follow-up, and being available when you need us.

We work across Australia, but we do not let that get in the way of building real connections. Every person we work with is treated with respect, and we take our role seriously—because support is not just a task, it is a responsibility.

Yes. Our team includes qualified staff with the clinical knowledge needed to provide care for people with more complex support requirements. This may include medication management, behavioural support, or personal care that requires extra skill and attention.

We build care plans that are clear, thorough, and adapted to the individual. We also involve the right people early on, whether that is family, allied health professionals, or specialists, so support is consistent and well managed. We do not treat complex support like a separate category. We see it as part of our responsibility and we approach it with care, confidence, and a calm, professional attitude.

We understand that culture, identity, and lived experience all shape how people want to be supported. From the first conversation, we ask questions about what is important to you, rather than making assumptions.

We consider language, religion, background, and personal preferences when planning support. Our team includes staff from a wide range of backgrounds, and we always try to match workers in ways that feel comfortable and appropriate. We also offer ongoing training to help our team deliver support that is not just respectful but informed. Inclusion is not a separate part of what we do, it is something we consider in every service we provide.

We expect your needs to change. Support should never be locked in place just because a plan was created months ago. If your routine shifts, your goals evolve, or something is no longer working, we are flexible and responsive.

You can contact us at any point to review how things are going, and we will work with you to make changes that make sense. That might include adjusting your hours, changing your support worker, or adding a new type of support. You do not need to wait for a major review or formal meeting. We aim to keep things simple and supportive, so your plan continues to feel relevant and useful.

Yes. If you are unsure about what is in your plan, or how to use your funding, we can help. Our Support Coordination service is designed to make things clearer and easier to manage.

We take the time to go through your plan with you, explain what each part means, and help you decide what supports might be useful. We can also assist with finding providers, setting up services, and staying on top of appointments and reporting. You will not be expected to figure things out alone. We guide you through it, step by step, in a way that feels manageable and clear.
